Window box ornament

In my quest for creativity, I surprised myself with this idea.  I was looking for something that could work as a gift, and an ornament seemed perfect.  The Window Box Thinlits created the perfect start to creating a shadow box with the Night in Bethlehem Bundle.  This photo doesn't show it well, but I did add Wink of Stella to the front, to add some shimmer!

More Night in Bethlehem

I have had a few months to create with this bundle, and it is so much fun!  Here are few more ideas with a few different color combinations.  I like to be accurate, so take notice that on the cards with Mary and Joseph, I did not use the large star as it didn't appear until after Jesus was born. On the cards with shepards, I used the large star, because that is what lead them to Jesus.

Embossing folders on Foil sheets

Foil sheets are great for adding that metallic look to any project.  But using them with an embossing folder takes the look to the next level.  The Gently Falling and Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folders were used below to add some texture to these cards!  Which card do you like better?

Year of Cheer Suite

Accessories are one of my favorite things about Stampin' Up!  They do such a great job of making all the products coordinate and work so well with each other.  The Year of Cheer Suite features: Foil Snowflakes(in silver and gold), Washi Tape(see card 1),  Champagne Foil sheets, and Designer Series Paper(used on all 3 cards).  All of these products work great as small accents or as the main focus of a card.

DSP Plaid

Designer Series Paper makes paper crafting so much easier.  There are some days when I can struggle for inspiration, and just need a jump start for ideas.  DSP can be a great source of inspiration for creating a card.  When I had ordered the Merry Mistletoe stamp set, it was because of the words in the set.  I wasn't sure how I felt about the reindeer.  When paired with the plaid DSP, I think it makes a great combination!

Fall Thank You notes

Thank you's are something that are not seasonal, but it can be fun to use some seasonal cards as Thank you notes.  The first card uses the Wood Paper Stack that is part of the special on Designer Series Paper through the end of the month.  The second card also has some wood features, using the wood grain embossing folder, it adds some texture to the back ground.  The third card the embossing paste that is new, and also the cat punch, not quite a halloween card, but perfect for fall.

World Card Making Day Thank You

October 7th was World Card Making day, and I want to say Thank You to everyone that stopped by my Open House to stamp a few cards.  Here is a sampling of the cards that I had setup to stamp.  I will say that everyone that was in attendance did a great job adding their unique touches to create cards that were your own.

Black and White

Color is so much fun, but when I am having a day that my creative juices are just not flowing, black and white can be an easy combo to work with.  The first card features the new Foil Snowflakes from the Holiday Mini catalog, and the second card using the Embossing Paste.  The little accessories, help add small details that make these easy cards work.

More Painted Harvest

Flowers can be found in so many colors and with all the colors Stampin' Up! has to offer, it leaves many possibilities.  Using the Pumpkin Pie with Crushed Curry, creates a sunflower that is a much deeper color, but still stands out.

The second card below used the new Happy Birthday Thinlit, that is just perfect for everyones birthday.  The adhesive sheets are amazing to use with this thinlit, as it cuts out the words, and makes it easy to adhere to a card.

Embossing Paste

New products are always fun to give a try and see how they work.  One new product from the main catalog is Embossing Paste.  The paste, templates, and tools are all sold seperately, but allow for several options when creating.  On the card below, I used the brick template and paste as it was in the containter.  The paste can also be mixed with ink refill drops to change the color.  It takes about 1/2 hour to dry and it adds some dimension to your background.

Sunflower

Back again with more Painted Harvest and the beautiful Sunflower.  This stamp set is available in photopolymer, and that helps to be able to line up the 2 step stamps.  One little trick I also learned with this set is that on the leaf stamps, I cut off the bottom edge of the stem, so it looks nicer stamped next to the sunflower.  I can still add both parts of the stamp to the block with I want to use the entire stamp, but I thought it was distracting having the extra overlapping on the flower.

Leaf Punch

The new leaf punch is a great new tool that is easy to use either alone or with the coordinating Painted Harvest stamp set.  The wreath below was just layering of different color punched leaves, and  creates a fun wreath that fits perfectly on a card.

Fall

This week seems more like summer than it did during the summer.  Sunflowers are blooming and actually starting to dry down for the season.  The Painted Harvest set creates such realistic sunflower images.  The coordinating leaf punch was used on this card, to create the decorative edge.

Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies

Currently the Carols of Christmas Bundle is available as a preorder before the Holiday Catalog begins in September.  The thinlits have so many possbilities that are not just for the Holidays!  I have never sent out deer hunting cards, but these would work.

Cat Punch!

My youngest just loves cats, not sure where this love came from, but she really loves cats!  A few years ago it became apparent that she had an allergy to cats, and we went to get tested for allergies.  She now receives allergy shots weekly in the hopes that one day she will be able to have a cat of her own.  So of course when the preview was out of the new items for the Fall catalog, she was immediately in need of the cat punch.  Just a few ideas from some new products that coordinate with the cat punch!

Painted Harvest

Painted Harvest is a new bundle in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  It is so perfect for any fall and thanksgiving cards.  It includes the stamps set and can be bundled with the Leaf Punch.  The sunflower stamp is a two step stamp, but is very forgiving and easy to layer and get a great look.

Night in Bethlehem

A sneak peak into the New Holiday Catalog that will be starting in September.

Night In Bethlehem is a stamp set and thinlits bundle, and it is perfect for very simple but elegant looking cards.  I started out with neutral colors as that seemed to be what I was drawn to for these cards, but I am eager to continue to try new colors combos.  This shadowbox card was the perfect design to create some depth!

More Country Livin with a little Heartland

I grew up listening to Country Music, and for a little while took guitar lessons.  I definitely have a few individuals that I could see sending either of these two cards to.

Country Livin - Truck

This is another stamp from the Country Livin Stamp Set, it looks great with watercolor.  Over the past few years, my youngest daughter Clare has fallen in love with the show American Pickers. She has developed a real enjoyment for old things and after going to the Iola Car Show last year, vehicles are on that list as well.  So this truck fits with her style, and she told me the other day that her first choice would be light blue, so I will have to do another card for her.
